Google Interviews Angela Pause: Writer for Rent

In 2007, the Google people in Silicon Valley contacted me, Writer for Rent, to ask if I would star  in one of their official Google corporate videos that would be played at their annual meeting for investors and key stakeholders. Their focus was how Google had a positive impact on people's work and business lives.  As a long-time user of Google, and a Google Friend,  I was definitely in Google's books as a happy user; maybe the happiest in Canada because I was the only Canadian selected to be in their Google Annual Meeting that year. (After the meeting they uploaded it to YouTube.)

Google sent a team up from the US to visit me at my office and home to talk about how Google helped me in my life. Google has never been a search engine for me, it has always been the "Answer Engine." I was thrilled to host the video team and we spent the afternoon taping me just talking about Google.  No script. No prompting. Just ad lib.

Sure it's corny, but from a brand point of view I am the real thing: A customer who is so excited and thrilled about their product, I would tell the world. For free.  This is what successful branding and even more successful product/service creation is  all about - making something so valuable to people it changes their life.  Well, during the Google interview I reveal that I  love Google more than...well, watch the video and find out!
